Good evening Ghouls and Goblins,
This is the roundtable discussion of Mario Bava's 1960 classic "Black Sunday" starring Barbara Steele, John Richardson and Andrea Cheechi.
What a masterpiece turned in for Mario Bava's 1960 directorial debut. A marvelously shot cinematic example of a master at work. Bava's films only get better after this and he is one of Doc's favorite horror directors. Why? he has a very sensitive eye to color and composition that is second to none.
It is said that all the "successful" film directors in Italy and Europe all wanted to emulate Bava's style.... he influenced the genre with such greats as "Black Sunday", Kill Baby Kill, The whip and the body.. just to name a few.

What an epic scene where Barbara Steele is standing in the courtyard with her great danes on a leash.... great shot!
